Stockholm Blogmeet 11 September

Last night's blogmeet was even better than the previous one: more people, some lady bloggers, some archaeologists and all presided over by Prof. Steve Steve. The professor was in a wild mood and immediately upon arriving did something indescribable with a large tabasco bottle, claiming that this was "good for his posture". Kind of disconcerting to have a conversation with a senior academic boasting that kind of... accommodation skills while he's... on the bottle.

Missing from the picture are myself (holding the camera) and Lars L of Arkland (who ended up outside the frame because it was too dark for me to see anything on the camera screen and I was too stupid to look through the peephole). In the pic are, clockwise and starting front left:

There seemed to be a general feeling that we all liked each other far too much to wait six months until the next blogmeet, so let's do it again in early December. Love ya, guys!

Here's hoping you get some more bloggers attending who are not white males. If so, provide photographic evidence.

I actually quite like white males -- many of my best friends own them.

Anyway, I believe the plan in case of any lack in female participation is to send single blogmeeters to recruit such from among the innocent bystanders.

I am sorry to say that I once again won’t be able to attend this beer feast of yours since I am otherwise occupied in the northern parts of Sweden, Kalix, at the given time. Well, our paths will have to cross another day, have fun and swoosh a couple of Baijo’s for me as well.

I'll be there.

I've only been hangin' around this place for some weeks but I'll be happy to be there, if no one objects to me not being a white male. I could maybe come as a white whale...

anyhoo, would be nice.

Although it means we will have to find one more participant who is not a white male to compensate, I will most likely be there!

Kai, Christina, Thinker, excellent!

8

I have absolutely no objection to christina not being a white male.

9

It would be awesome if one of the readers turned out to be, like, a white whale or sumthin'.

Posted by: Martin R | August 28, 2007 11:14 AM

10

Have ye seen the white whale?

I'll try to be there for a little while at least.
If anyone else is considering turning up for the first time, and doesn't know the others, look for the geekfest in the basement!

Hold a chair for me, please.

Posted by: Lars L | September 7, 2007 6:43 AM

13

Wish I could come, but I have pressing matters to attend to. Next time I'll be there, I swear!

I have no blogg...
It seems now as (if) I happen to be in Stockholm that evening, I will sit in a corner somewhere and look at you, to see what real bloggers look like...

15

We'll recognise you and invite you over!

Posted by: Martin R | September 7, 2007 10:32 AM

16

Oh, and you certainly don't have to be a blogger to take part of a blogmeet.

Posted by: Martin R | September 7, 2007 10:34 AM

17

Too bad. Finally in the right vicinity for a blogmeet, but it's my daughters birthday (NOT born on the year of burning sky scrapers or murdered foreign secretaries) and we are cavorting at the swim hall of Fyrishov with water slides and such. So it will be almost the same...

BTW - Martin, check out my blog. We've just returned from our excursion to Finland and we did not leave empty handed... :-D

Tack för igår!

It was a most fulfilling experience.

Art least I probably won't be north of the polar circle in december, hold a seat.

Great to meet you all yesterday! It was of course an honor to have the professor attend; his ability to effortlessly become the focal point of the gathering and make everyone feel good is truly amazing.

See you all next time!

Greetings from the Lord of Darkness.

I'm disappointed to hear that you managed to have such a good time without me; but I'll be there for the next one!

Posted by: Tor | September 13, 2007 5:04 AM

You do that! I learned that the fish & chips are kind of bland at Wirstroms but gloriously free from skin and bones. The bangers & mash are very good.

24

Good to see you all there.
And now something completely different for the Monty Python fans.

Oh, I would like any pictures anyone has of me and the Prof, if it's not too much to ask! ;)
