It's long past time for an Aard after-work blogmeet. Everybody, welcome to restaurant Akkurat at Hornsgatan 18 in Stockholm on Monday 1 September! I'll be there from 17:30. It's right by Slussen subway station. Akkurat specialises in mussels, rare ales and rare malt whiskies -- in the hundreds and hundreds. Drop a comment and tell me you'll be there!

Confirmed participants are Felicia, Thinker, Kai, Åsa, Paddy and Lars L. There's room for more!

Comments

I'll be there, barring being exploded by an alien erupting from my stomach, which at the moment seems like quite a plausible future.

Ale? Mussels? Say no more, say no more! (Nudge, nudge, know what I mean?)

Work-wise, not the best day, but hopefully, I can make it!

an alien erupting from my stomach

Congratulations! Who is the father?

F'shure, I'll be there, because, as we know, the mollusc is a randy little fellow whose primitive brain scarcely strays from the subject of the you know what.

Third times a charm. Barring projectile vomiting from family members I WILL be there!

Posted by: ArchAsa | August 24, 2008 12:05 PM

Martin, if only. Then at least I'd have something to look forward to. As it is, I don't even know when or if my suffering will end!

Posted by: Felicia Gilljam | August 24, 2008 4:43 PM

Åsa, projectile vomiting family members are an excellent reason for being somewhere else.

Felicia, it may not be much solace, but Death will eventually end all pain. (Let us compare intestinal notes in the meanwhile.)

Hey, is this our "one millionth SciBlogs comment" event?

If so, let's make some more noise about it - the more, the merrier!

Posted by: Thinker | August 29, 2008 8:08 AM

Further to my previous comment, I just read this on Pharyngula:

Our generous Seed overlords wish to mark this event with celebrations all over the world, and are planning to bestow upon us small sums of money for the purpose of purchasing refreshments at gatherings of bloggers and readers ... [snip] ... In other words, we get to have a party and Seed will pay for the beer.

Martin: what have you been hiding from us...?

Posted by: Thinker | August 29, 2008 9:55 AM

Sorry, no, the Millionth Comment parties are all between 14 and 28 September. I'm gonna be out of town digging at that time.

Who said anything about your presence being required? Freibier!

Posted by: Pär | August 31, 2008 3:34 PM

Unfortunately September 1st is grant application deadline time for me so I won't manage this one, I'm afraid.

It would be nice but too bad it´s the same day as the VoF-meeting with Peter and his Faktoider.

Posted by: Marcus | September 1, 2008 4:27 AM

I will turn up around 18.30-19 - depending on when I can escape from my supervisor.

I will definately need a beer...or ten

Look out for my Hello Cthulhu teeshirt.

As usual I won't be able to make it this time due to work in Norrbotten. Darn and dubble darn I'll have to drink one by myself.
