Lately I've been listening to the following albums:

All highly recommended! Given that I like this stuff, do you have any suggestions for more ear-bud fodder, Dear Reader?

Check out the Sleep spinoff Om and their Conference of the Birds. Also, whilst not my cuppa, Midlake's The Trials of Van Occupanther might be right up your alley.

If you're liking the Sleep you should seek out some Electric Wizard! Probably best to start with Dopethrone; on the other hand if you're happily listening to Jerusalem you may find the Wizard's 30-minute two-track Supercoven pleasant light relief! Come My Fanatics... is possible the most extreme and weird of their output, but not for the faint-hearted. I think it's fantastic but I tend to listen to it only when I'm in a mood that nothing can make worse.

What is soul? 'Let's take it to the stage' and 'One nation under a groove' are the seminal Funkadelica, but there is much to enjoy from Parliament, Bootsy, Brides of Funkenstein and George's solo releases.
If you've got a hankering for some usa post punk, try the Thermals, 'The Body, The Blood, The Machine', or 'Against Me' by New Wave. Oh and 'Let's Stay Friends', Les Savy Fav.
