Asked by her teacher to write five things she's good at, and to illustrate them, 7-y-o Juniorette just produced this.
The speech bubble reads "Yes I win". Then "I'm good at writing running putting my hand up eating candy and not liking liquorice."
Next term she's scheduled to chair the student council.
I wonder if I may have been a little lax in fulfilling my patriarchal misogynist duties with this child.

"Not liking liquorice" seems a worthwhile achievement in any political climate. I take it the brownish bolus at centre left is meant to illustrate it?

Exactly. The five depicted units represent the five things of which Jrette claims total mastery. The likeness of her with her arms in the air is when she's winning a sprinting competition. (This particular skill may have something to do with the fact that she's way taller than several classmates.)

Big deal. The record from Africa shows that anatomically modern humans were culturally very conservative for tens of thousands of years. For Neanderthals to have done culural transfer from H. Sapiens Sapiens during the short period they co-inhabited a region, they would have had to show more cultural flexibility than our paleolithic ancestors. Therefore this says nothing definitive about the cognitive or artistic shortcomings of Neanderthals.
A more damning matter is that they did not show the same foresight in choosing caves as settlements relaive to their hunting ground as modern humans, which may indicate a smaller "planning horizon".

Apparently, you get to volunteer for council duty, and then the representatives are chosen by lot. I don't know how Jrette was selected to chair the thing next term. From what I've heard, she's been one of the most outspoken members of the school's environmental group since daycare days. Maybe she's simply been selected for being talkative.

She kind of has. Her brother's mom teaches in that school. I believe that helped get her into that daycare centre despite it being some ways from our area. And then automatically on to school there.
