He elaborates on a study I mentioned here but didn't delve very much into the science. Zimmer does--check out the link to find out how he relates it to HIV.

Tara C. Smith is an Assistant Professor of Epidemiology. Her research involves a number of pathogens at the animal-human nexus. Additionally, she is the founder of Iowa Citizens for Science and also writes for The Panda's Thumb and previously for WIRED SCIENCE's Correlations. Thanks for the link Tara. Sounds like the virus is not present in the carcinoma cells themselves but in a very low frequency of adjacent stromal cells. I wonder what they'll make of that.
