Afarensis is a 3.5-2.8 million year old hominin from the Kada Hadar member of the Hadar formation in the Middle Awash, Ethiopia. He is approximately 41 inches tall, weighs approximately 60 pounds and has a cranial capacity of a whopping 410 cc (approximately). Afarensis is currently considered to be transitional between apes and humans and displays some traits of both. Since he spends a lot of time on the couch watching monster movies, some observers question whether he is an obligate biped (although no one has observed him climbing a tree). He does do basic rhetoric better than the other guy. I can see why so many Americans respond to the message, and the way he presents it.

(If my detached language is freaking you out, I'm Canadian. I have my own problems to vote about on Tuesday.)

I don't dare chill till he's in the White House. I've seen too much dirt flying out here! People I thought were sensible lean in close to me and whisper, thinking I'm like-minded, and tell me they're not voting for Obama 'cause: (1) his name rhymes with Osama; (2) he's darker than a grocery sack; (3) his daddy came from the wrong continent; and (4) Palin winked at 'em and said "you betcha"!

Good thing I'm sillier than they are. I go to singing Shay Black's song: "O'Leary, O'Reilly, O'Hare and O'Hara, /There's no one as Irish as Barry O'Bama!" Hey, nobody out sillies me!
