Former US President Bill Clinton is now touting circumcision as a solution with enormous potential to staunch the spread of AIDS. New trials are in the works to test a study performed last year in South Africa that showed a 60% decreased risk of AIDS contraction after circumcision. If confirmed, "we will have another means to prevent the spread of the disease and to save lives, and we will have a big job to do," Clinton said. There are some cultural taboos to be considered, primarily in India where Muslims are circumcised, while Hindus are not. However, in Africa studies have shown men are willing to be circumcised if it would protect them from AIDS. For the full story, check out this article over at The Guardian Unlimited.
