I'm sure it's only a matter of time before this turtle is acclaimed as a "hero":
A box turtle, outfitted with GPS, was being tracked by the National Park Service for research purposes. On July 14th, the turtle, located in Rock Creek Park, was found in a marijuana field just south of the Maryland line.
U.S. Park Police set up surveillance and discovered a suspect caring for the plants. The suspect, identified as 19-year-old Isiah Johnson of Chevy Chase, Maryland has been arrested.

So was the turtle attracted to the pot plants? Can turtles get some buzz from eating cannabis? Inquiring minds want to know!

Was this the intent of outfitting the turtle with a GPS?
In other words, do turtles naturally hone in on marijuana, or alternatively can they be trained to do so?
(No wonder they move so slow.)

That may look like a GPS-equipped box turtle to you. It's supposed to. It's really a cunning disguise. It's supposed to look like a GPS-equipped box turtle. (Clever, eh?) It's really part of the advance scouting party. Teh Pig Pharma Lizard Overlords are arriving…

Thanks! Yesterday, my thirteen year old let his three pet turtles out on the street, and now his crying because he thought they would come back! With hashish!
