A few posts back, LOLTHULHU made an appearance. It's a parody of LOLCATS. With regard to the latter and the former, here's what the blog formerly known as the Table of Malcontents (now Ectomo) had to say:

I am reminded of the Star Trek episode where Kirk et al were kidnapped to act as gladiators so the aliens could happily gamble.
The aliens, were enormous bodiless brains floating in well-lit tanks of bubbling liquid.
They had a lot of time on their hands, so to speak. :D

Ah, yes! A classic original Star Trek episode. This theme was nicely recapitulated in Matt Groening's Futurama with the preserved (and talking) celebrity heads.
I'm tempted to submit a theorist with banal misspelled caption to LOLTHEORISTS...when I have the time.
