Dynamics of Cats

Speculations on astronomy, astrophysics, news I find interesting, theoretical issues, science and science policy. I will digress into computational physics, science fiction and general issues and basically whatever I feel like whenever. And, of course, cats.

Rob from Galactic Interactions is here

as is Phil from Bad Asronomy

I gather Sean and Jennifer are here also, not bumped into any of them.

'Course my flight was late and I completely missed the opening reception.

Phil has a good entry on the COSMOS "structure of dark matter press release, Rob on black hole spin.

PS: Professor Astronomy is also here

I'd expect Astroprof to be here also, but the link is dead.

Babe in the Universe is here also

Yes indeedy Astroprofs here also

Got in yesterday afternoon, but felt like death warmed over ... stupid cold virus, grr.

Spent 15 hours asleep. Much better now, though I imagine I'll be easy to find at the meeting ... I'm the one blowing his nose every 2 minutes.

My student Ryan Lang is presenting a poster on MBBH measurements --- stop over and say hi!

Sean actually isn't here -- he was in Seattle for other reasons!

Jennifer tells me that she's here at the AAS, but I haven't seen her since Saturday at her book signing.

I'm told that there's this guy named Steinn Siggurdsson at the meeting, but I haven't seen him.

Same with Phil Plait and Scott Hughes.... :)

Never heard of him, maybe he is Kris's little brother?

So Sean crashed? ;-)

Time to check UoW physics colloquium pages

PS: good eye - WaPo also decided the Black Hole stuff was the "astro news of the day",
and they gave Con-X a good plug.
Everyone else seems to have gone with the "Viking lander killed peroxide blooded bugs" which seemed rather speculative to me...

I'm here, but missed out today due to a very nasty viral infection. It's run its course, but I am very weak. Weak as a kitten, and not a dynamic one. I should be up and around by tomorrow.

well, I knew where to find Scott, but then I lost him
explains why I haven't spotted Phil or Sean, but I'm surprised not to have found Rob yet
I think I've seen everyone else from Vanderbilt...
