The Dangeral Professor quits blogging
Man, now we're going to have to like invent a new medium to lure him back.

Now on ScienceBlogs: Open Lab PSA
Speculations on astronomy, astrophysics, news I find interesting, theoretical issues, science and science policy. I will digress into computational physics, science fiction and general issues and basically whatever I feel like whenever. And, of course, cats.
Still working on an analytic exact approximate solution to the herding problem.
So you want to be an astrophysicist?

From his blog:
I don't know this guy from Adam but I saw this sentence and it hasn't left my mind because of how stupid it is.
Ideas transcend all media. Whether spoken, written or vlogged, it is the ideas that matter, not the medium. I can understand why some people quit blogging, although usually this is just an impulse of "I need to simplify my life" and a few days later I think they start to reconsider. I don't mind, of course, if this fellow wants to stop blogging, but to imply he has exhausted the medium is wrong. In a few weeks/months/years we'll see a post from him about how he can't vlog anymore because of X, Y and Z.
I find that people tend to set the bar too high for themselves. I blog when I want, I vlog when I want and I don't give a rats ass if my audience is happy or sad about the frequency of my posts. I'm not trying to "monetize" or become some super blog superstar. I'm just expressing myself when and how I see fit without any baggage of expectations.
Perhaps that's why no one gives a shit about my stupid blog! I don't know.

I think that particular comment was a joke.
Major reason for quitting blogging, I infer is combination of burnout and real life committments.

This is precisely why they should have "sarcasm" html tags. Would work in latex too...would be helpful for all those astronomy papers...
