struggle is indeed a more important measure of success than accomplishment when values and the lesson learnt are taken in to consideration. But if you are working in the corporate world, they dont care how much you struggled, but has the task been done? is the question or measure of success to you. So i believe that depends on where you are viewing it from, the answer is a yes or a no. considering the question is for lessons to life in general, i would agree with struggle being more imporatnt as a measure of success. when am tired and 70 years old, at the end of my life, i want to be rich in experience and knowledge..i want this experiences of struggle to be passed on to my children or grandchildren....i want them to learn that the means to the goal is as important if not more important than the goal itself. The means to the goal or struggle in this case shapes you to be a better person and brings out the best in you. As it is said - adversity reveals a genius, but propsperity conceals it' I'm a follower of Hindu religion and a hindu believes in Karma and that we are born until we united with the God...and this comes by surrendering oneselves to the will of God. In that context, again the struggle is more important...as you may not acheive your goal in this life..but in the next and may be in the next you will reach your goal of unity with the supreme divine. I wish i was learnt this lesson of struggle being more important measure of success than accomplishment when i was in my school years or when i was studying..then i would have put more effort in to struggling and putting in the hardwork to understand the theory behind physics or mathematics than getting a A grade!!
Its said that - Success is not a destination, its a journey. My belief is that its like any other journey with lots of twists and turns and ups and down and it makes us who we are.
