By then the “deniers” will be claiming that liberals deliberately caused global warming to hasten the onset of the new world order

by 2060, they should be shooting for 75 years back. (yes, i think we’re a quarter-century past the point where carbon taxes would do us any good. i think our best option at present is to adapt to, and prepare for having to survive in, a world drastically and irreversibly changed. carbon? what the hell ever, burn what’s left of it, things are gonna change anyway — and maybe burning the rest of it will help us cope with the necessary adaptations.)
