My scientific specialty is chronobiology (circadian rhythms and photoperiodism), with additional interests in comparative physiology, animal behavior and evolution. I am not an MD so I cannot diagnose and treat your sleep problems. As well as writing this blog, I am also the Online Discussion Expert for PLoS. Your bookshelf photos...with cats! Very nice, but looks as if you and Ms. Coturnix are destined to be "Crazy Old Cat People" in your golden years.
Re: the recent discussions of book-shelving strategies in the blogosphere, you might find this site interesting: Prelinger Library blog
It's the blog for an "independent public library" of books, periodicals, and ephemera, shelved and organized in a very interesting fashion.
