My daughter's homework for math class today was to bring in a pie. They had quite a party. Don't know how the teacher got that one past the administration since, in the interest of nutrition, sweets are not supposed to be distributed at holiday parties (or on any occasion, actually).

To integrate concepts of constants, like pi, into the minds of the elemtary school students of present day America is surely worth this one time nutritional sacrifice.
