Fun to watch: the Edwards-Rove debate

Category: Politics
Posted on: July 4, 2008 5:09 PM, by Coturnix

Edwards, Rove to face off in UB debate:

Sens. Barack Obama and John McCain might not burn up the campaign trail around Western New York this election year, but the University at Buffalo may have scheduled the next best thing.

GOP strategist Karl Rove and former Democratic vice presidential candidate John Edwards will debate the issues of the presidential campaign Sept. 26 as part of the university's Distinguished Speakers Series, The Buffalo News has learned.

As surrogates for the parties' standard bearers, the two also could square off more than once at other locations around the nation.

I'm a foolish optimist -- I cling to the hope that Rove will be in prison before this debate.

I would think that the U of Buffalo could find someone more distinguished than Roves. That man needs to crawl back under the rock from which he came. He's done enough damage to this great country. And I have to agree with Michael Burton - keeping my fingers crossed he will be in jail.

Might actually be enlightning. With neither one running for office, there could actually be a few exchanges when one or both of them strays from script and says what they really believe about something or other.

I hope it gets filmed and placed online or perhaps showed on C-Span.

Is the debate still on? I'm guessing the Democrats don't want Edwards in the spotlight too much for a while.
