My scientific specialty is chronobiology (circadian rhythms and photoperiodism), with additional interests in comparative physiology, animal behavior and evolution. I sent my guess: juvenile Brewer's Sparrow. That's just an amateur opinion with a copy of the National Geographic field guide to North American birds and Google images.
