Not too long ago, the prospect of big cats prowling the remote backcounty of the eastern US would have prompted ridicule despite the insistence of experienced hunters and a handful of cryptozoologists. However anecdotal evidence suggests the elusive animals are returning to their former range.
Officially, the large cat is believed to be extinct east of the Mississippi River, from Maine to South Carolina. Yet biologists receive at least a dozen reports each year of sightings in southern Maine alone, and rumors abound in other states as well. ( Portland Press Herald)

Cool - I hope it's true. Have you done any research on the "big cat" sightings in Australia? I say a veruy grainy video purporting to be a feral domesticated cat, @ 4 times the norm in size...
