Are you lying when in fact you're convinced what you have to say is true. Successful politicians may just be more skilled at self-deception than the rest of us. Most people, perhaps all, seem hard-wired to be able to interpret reality to suit their ends. ( Washington Post)

Could Bush Pass A Polygraph Test?
I believe he could. With a common liar, there is a part of the brain which knows the statements being made are untruthful, and this part of the brain is being suppressed. Bush has difficulty stringing words together into coherent sentences these days, and it appears that every neuron he has is being utilized toward the task, with none left over.
