Judge Lays the Smack Down on Bush

Category: Conservation & EnvironmentIndustry & GovernmentMegavertebrate

From CNN...
The Navy must follow environmental laws placing strict limits on sonar training that opponents argue harms whales, despite President Bush's decision to exempt it, a federal judge ruled Monday..."We disagree with the (exemption) judge's decision," White House spokesman Tony Fratto said. "We believe the (exemption) orders are legal and appropriate."
Bwahahahahaha.

This is GOOD. But it doesn't seem to have dented Bush's perception that the judicial branch of government is irrelevant to him, inferior to the office of President, and can be ignored at will.

Luna, I couldn't agree with you more, but with one small addition in that he couldn't care less about the legislative branch either... you know, the one that passed laws like NEPA and the Marine Mammal Protection Act.

Are you kidding? This is terrible news! How are we going to defeat the whales now?

I wrote about this story, too:
