A woman sunbathing on a boat died after a stingray leaped from the water off the Florida Keys on Thursday and struck her, officials said.

Now, did the ray die from hitting her or from being left on the deck? Or was it killed?

According to the Miami Herald, it died of "being out of the water too long" -- something which could either mean asphyxiation or just a bad Florida Keys sunburn.

She was probably someone who worked on molluscs & the ray was looking for a feed... :-P
