Help support the Oceans-21 Act

Category: Industry & Government
Posted on: April 4, 2008 8:27 AM, by Peter Etnoyer

Surfrider Foundation says.... you have the power to help preserve and protect our oceans, waves and beaches by asking your Congressional Representative to support the Oceans Conservation, Education and National Strategy for the 21st Century Act ("Oceans-21"). Oceans-21 provides common sense legislation to ensure that our ocean water and marine life remain healthy.

The U.S. House of Representatives Subcommittee on Fisheries, Wildlife and Oceans is considering Oceans-21 this month. YOUR representative sits on this subcommittee!! Please CALL your Congressional Representative Today! Click here to Take Action.

Where can one read the Oceans-21 act? I don't vote for or endorse things when I don't know what they say...especially since "common sense legislation" is often anything but.

Try searching for it on the Thomas website. You can find any and all bills that have been introduced. http://thomas.loc.gov/ The Bill is HR 21.

You can trust Surfrider to support policies that defend your beaches, and water quality. Surfrider has lawyers on staff for that expressed purpose. But I'll dig or ask around for you, CK. You're right to want to know the details.
