Well, here at ScienceBlogs, we're heading for another milestone. Sometime in the next few weeks, we will have our millionth comment. If the past is any guide, there will be some celebratory swag, and hopefully, mini-meet-ups. We may have a little Michigan gathering of sciblings, readers, and others who may be interested. This would likely happen in mid-September, and I'd like to gauge the level of interest. Please either leave a comment or drop me an email to let me know if you might be interested in having a beer and chatting with various local or visiting science bloggers in Michigan, so I can get a feel for what to expect.
Profile
Mark Hoofnagle has a MD and PhD in physiology from the University of Virginia, and is now a general surgery resident. His interest in denialism concerns the use of denialist tactics to confuse public understanding of scientific knowledge.
Chris Hoofnagle is a recovering Washington, DC lawyer and information privacy law expert at UC-Berkeley Law School. Denialism became apparent to him while working on consumer protection laws in Washington. The Denialists' Deck of Cards is essentially a how-to guide for being an industry lobbyist.
PalMD is a practicing internist in the Midwestern United States. Aside from the great joy he finds in his family and his work, he likes communicating some of that joy to others. He has a special interest in the ways patients---and we are all patients at one time or another---are deceived by charlatans. He aims to change the world, one reader at a time. Previous writings can still be found here.

Where in Michigan? And how much beer? (Both equally important questions given the state of today's economy.)
Posted by: Ren | August 28, 2008 1:14 PM
A modest amount of beer will probably be supplied free of charge. Current candidate areas are Detroit burbs, East Lansing, Ann Arbor.

I'm down. I'm in Lansing, but Ann Arbor probably has some better beer options.

Current 3rd year med student and long time lurker reporting... I would be interested in meeting up in the Detroit Burbs if my schedule permits. You should try to coordinate with Ed Brayton and some of the other MI scibloggers.

Some part of me hopes it's written by a troll who's some strange amalgamation of Robert O'Brien, Kenny, & cooler.
