From Charlie Crist, Republican candidate for governor of Florida, during a debate with opponent Jim Davis:
Crist, (pictured) who currently is Attorney General and who has dogged suggestions throughout the campaign that he is gay, had one of the more unusual reasons for opposing same-sex marriage, saying marriage is a "sacred" relationship - "like I had, before I got divorced."
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Seeing your post title on the RSS feed, I was determined before reading it to leave a comment saying that you should stop titling posts on these issues "Worst X ever" or "Best X ever", as the fundies are inexhaustibly capable of descending to lower levels. But after reading it a laughed so much that I make a pass on this one -I really don't think anything can ever top this blatant hypocrisy.
Nevertheless, you should consider the point before going on with these titles.

Irony aside (!), using the word "sacred" is a mistake. That's a religious word. If prohibition of gay marriage is a religious thing, then it should be a commandment of his church, not a part of secular law.

Notice that none of the candidates actually had a different effective position. All oppose gay marriage and favor civil unions. They just differ on the rhetoric used to justify their position. Watching these idiots debate is like an episode of Futurama:
Clone Candidate #1: My opponent's 5% Titanium tax goes too far!
Clone Candidate #2: My opponent's 5% Titanium tax doesn't go far enough!
Please, please, could I have someone worth voting for in an election someday? PLEASE?
