Chris Rodda, who is now contributing to Talk2Action, starts off his contributions with a bang, debunking one of the most commonly heard myths about Thomas Jefferson. Yes, there are a lot of myths spread by the religious right about Jefferson; this particular one is that he was such a devout Christian that he attended church every week in the House of Representatives building and even insisted that the Marine Corps band accompany the service at government expense. As usual, this turns out to be quite a distortion of reality.

    Ed – I should mention that Chris is a woman. Not that you’d be able to tell, given her lack of profile and picture.

    Anyway, I thought you’d like that one – nothing like a good debunking of Christian nationalist historical revisionism to start one’s day off on a good note !
