Swift on Justice and the Laws of War

Category:
Posted on: February 19, 2007 9:00 AM, by Ed Brayton

Lt. Cmdr. Charles Swift, the JAG lawyer who took his chain of command, including the President himself, to court in the Hamdan case, has an inspiring article in the forthcoming edition of Esquire called The American Way of Justice. Swift is leaving the JAG corps and will be a civilian soon. I hope he ends up with a public interest law firm so he can continue to do the excellent appellate work he began in Hamdan. He is a brilliant and principled advocate for the Constitution.
