A reader left a link to one of these videos and it was great. I’d never heard of Roy Zimmerman before, and I generally don’t care for people who do musical comedy with funny songs, but some of these are really good. I’ll post a couple of them below the fold.

Here’s one called My Conservative Girlfriend. I love the line about him taking her to breakfast – “She had a spotted owl omelette…..whites only.”

This one is Creation Science 101:

And here’s one called Abstain With Me. Great line to begin – “Abstinence only sex education, which is a lot like Just Hold It potty training.”

    Speaking of musical comedy, I saw Stephen Lynch at a club once doing some of the songs from A Little Bit Special and I thought it was absolutely hilarious. I haven’t been that amused by musical comedy since. I’ll have to check these videos out once I get home and have access to my computer.

    Not long ago, I was lamenting to a Canadian friend that witty and comic songs seem to be a dying form, at least in the U.S. I hadn’t heard of Roy Zimmerman. Many thanks for making me aware of him.

    As a longtime fan of Tom Lehrer, it’s great to see someone like Roy Z. come on the scene after all these years.

    Roy is great, and so is Steven Lynch. You might want to check out Jonothan Coulton, a great geek humor song writer; he has songs about DNA, the Mandelbrot Set, and zombies. Staples of our culture :D
