Posted by Scott Bloch, the astonishingly corrupt hack who runs the Office of Special Counsel, is going to launch an investigation of Karl Rove and his involvement in the firing of the 8 US attorneys. And in related news, the Big Bad Wolf has been hired as an in-home caregiver for Little Red Riding Hood’s grandmother. Bloch himself is under investigation for a wide range of instances of misuse and abuse of his authority and he has made the OSC into a laughingstock. This gives them the. “can’t comment while there is an ongoing investigation” cop out they used for the Plame case.

As I noted on my blog, Bloch’s statement that the OSC “will take the evidence where it leads us” has rather suspicious connections.

A slightly different spin is put on the Bloch story by columnist Robert Novak who claims that the proposed Bloch investigation is motivated by a desire of Bloch to get even with people in the administration who have been trying to force him out.

That is simply outrageous. But consider what nearly seven years of focused seeking of incompetence has brought: Where else in the executive branch is there an investigative bunch anyone would trust to do a fair and honest job?
