No, seriously. At the “Values Voters” event last weekend. Greenwood serenaded Dobson with “Your Song” by Elton John, a love song undoubtedly written about another man. Dobson and his wife swayed and the audience cheered as Greenwood sang these lyrics to Dobson:
So excuse me forgetting but these things I do
You see I’ve forgotten if they’re green or they’re blue
Anyway the thing is what I really mean
Yours are the sweetest eyes I’ve ever seen
That’s so cute! It’s enough to make Larry Craig widen his stance again. Rob Boston has more suggestions:
I’d suggest that next year, FOF hire the Village People to sing “YMCA”!
Great idea. After all, that is the Young Men’s Christian Association. Or they could do “In the Navy” as a tribute to the military. Or RuPaul could do his tribute to the traditional American work ethic, “You Better Work.” Or perhaps I could do my own rendition of Lee Greenwood’s most famous song, “Proud to be a simpleminded jingoist cashing in on the emotional immaturity of my credulous followers.”
