The Center for Constitutional Rights has the perfect Christmas gift for the President who has everything and knows nothing:
The Center for Constitutional Rights plans to "flood the Oval Office with copies of the Constitution this holiday season ... as a seasonal reminder that the Constitution needs to be upheld; not destroyed."Those interested can also sign an accompanying letter addressed to President Bush, which poses a multitude of questions reminding the president "that he swore an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States."
I like what that letter says:
"I would have hoped that you'd be pretty familiar with [the Constitution] already," writes the anonymous author, "because you have at least three times in your life taken a solemn oath to uphold, protect and defend it, but all the signs indicate that you either don't know what's in it, or you don't care."
Merry Christmas, George. I know the Constitution is a bit more difficult to get through than My Pet Goat, but give it a shot.

"The Constitution only applies to wealthy landowners, not the poor, Blacks or any person with a foreign sounding name."

I suspect that, rather than picking up and reading any of the documents littering, I mean decorating, his floor, the Boy King will order his staff to clean up the mess. Then, as the documents burn in the incinerator, I mean furnace, he and his Stepford Wife will enjoy a toasty warm, cozy holiday - unlike their neighbors across the street in Lafayette Park.

I agree with Chaplain, and furthermore, I would have thought that filling the Oval office with copies of the constituion would make it more likely that he would destroy the constitution, if only to clear a little space.

You might also want to sent one to the faculty of Columbia University, not to mention about a hundred other "schools".
The President of Iran can be listened to attentively, ok, there were a few giggles, but the Minutemen are shouted down. Seems to be just fine with Columbia.

Was thinking that a shredder would be a good companion gift, but I'm guessing he already has one.

So ... where in the Constitution does it say that foreign heads of state aren't allowed to speak at American universities, Increase Mather...?
Posted by: Michael Ralston | November 22, 2007 12:16 PM
Dear Mike: Didn't say that. Did and do say that free speech is for everyone. Some university types don't want to extend it to those with whom they disagree. The Minutemen have a point of view, which is that the government should enforce the government's laws. Some don't like some of those laws so shout down those who do.
Don't think that's the way the first amendment works.
