Anti-gay nut Peter LaBarbera is criticizing Hillary Clinton for pursuing Federal funding for the Gay Men’s Health Crisis Center, the oldest organization in the country dedicated to AIDS education and prevention. Here’s his absurd reason:
“One of the recipients was the Gay Men’s Health Crisis [Center],” notes LaBarbera. “[The Crisis Center] is a typical, radical, homosexual activist/AIDS organization that opposes abstinence and supports homosexual funding and subsidizing — effectively, promotion of homosexual sex acts.”
Of course, LaBarbera’s definition of a “radical homosexual” group is any group that thinks homosexuals should have a right to exist. The GMHCC has worked tirelessly to encourage healthy and safe sexual practices among gays since 1982. They educate, providing testing and treatment for AIDS and a variety of other diseases and provide a range of services that improve the health of their clients.
But in the magical world LaBarbera inhabits, all gays should just be told to stop being gay and start praying and they’ll suddenly stop being gay and start being straight and they’ll marry a woman and have 2.4 children, a dog and a house with a white picket fence. It’s the existence of homosexuals that makes them “radical” in his eyes and their existence can merely be prayed away.
