My friend Andi, who comments here once in a while, has a new blog, Fools and Sages. It’s mostly about personal finance, which is her area of expertise, with some occasional political commentary as well. Andi and I first “met” in the Compuserve religion forum some 16 or 17 years ago, back in the days of Windows 3.1 when the internet was still the next big thing coming just around the corner (the same time and place I also got to know Troy Britain and Henry Neufeld, who also comment here). It’s really one of the most incredible aspects of the modern age, the ability to get to know people from far away places without ever being in the same room (though Andi and I finally did get a chance to meet in person a few years ago). That has certainly enriched my life with a great many intelligent and interesting people.
