Beck to Fox News

Posted on: October 19, 2008 9:23 AM, by Ed Brayton

The terminally irritating Glenn Beck has signed a deal to leave CNN and go to Fox News. My reaction is the same reaction I would have upon learning that Celine Dion had signed a deal to perform in Branson, MO, or that George W. Bush was to go from being president of the United States to being the Grand Poobah of a college fraternity: it's really where you should have been all along.

Little does he know, though, that Rupert Murdoch actually fell for the Global Warming Hoax!

Just like, you know, every scientific body in the world.

Sad day when CNN loses a "thinker" like that.

I think its great news. The more AM loudmouth know-nothings and Republican politicians the network adds to its the roster the less feasible it becomes for it to continue the pretense of being a news organization.

Why the hell does any network give Beck a contract to do anything?

I know he likes to think of himself as something of a political humorist a la Colbert and Stewart, but Beck is light years away from their level of intelligence and talent.

Beck is neither insightful, clever, nor interesting in any way.

He is a living void.

Check out the comments on that site. Yeah, that shows who the FOX news people appeal to.

You've got to wonder what Fox is getting out of this deal. It's not like they're short of obnoxious wingnuts, and Beck's show is just about the lowest rated on cable news. Maybe they just want to monopolise the far right.
