The Travails of Travel

Posted on: January 17, 2009 3:03 PM, by Ed Brayton

Well I'm back in Michigan but not yet back home. I landed at the airport at 5 am, got a hotel room and caught about 6 hours sleep. Checked out of the hotel room, got about 20 miles down the road before figuring out that this is not a good time to be on the highways. Called my brother, who informed me that a friend of ours had just made the reverse of my trip to the airport and it took her 6 hours. So I pulled off the road and got a hotel room. If I'd known that, I'd have stayed in Vegas another day or two!

I hear you Ed. I spent 3 1/2 hours on I-94 and US 12 trying to get home and counted 13 stranded cars stuck in the snow banks along the way (chalk that count up to bad car games one plays with the kids to keep them entertained). I have decided that today I drive nowhere!
