Steal This Phrase

Posted on: March 4, 2009 9:30 AM, by Ed Brayton

Someone who comments here under the name grasshopper has invented a brilliant phrase for the Rush Limbaughs of the world: ignorexia verbosa. Pass it on.

This is exactly the left, or in this case, the anti-right, is not as good as getting its message across. Latin. Indeed.

I'll stick with "ditto-headed morons"

Greg Laden:

I'll stick with faux latin: Fuckbaggius bloviatus. Not much chance that will be misunderstood--or inaccurate.

H.L. Menken warned against "one who will preach doctrines he knows to be untrue to men he knows to be idiots."

Greg - best you stick with 'ditto-headed morons'.
Grasshopper clearly likes neologic Greco-Latin chimeras.
Unless he meant:
'the part behind the thigh or knee that desires women who talk incessantly'* ...
or something. - DJ
*From Greek 'Ignau + orexia' and Latin - 'verbosa' note the femine ending in the Latin.

Although it's a person-specific moniker, I like to refer to Rush Limbaugh as Rash Windbag. Feel free to borrow the term though.

It's not mine, but...
The former Member for the Federal seat of Oxley (QLD), Pauline Hanson, was once described as 'The Oxley Moron'. -DJ

That sounds more like a Harry Potter's enchanment.

I think I'll stick with ignorant gits, mostly because I can remember how to spell it.

That reminds me of an Al Franken quote:

"But why would people so woefully lacking in the basic facts of an issue think they were the best informed? Social scientists call the phenomenon 'pseudo-certainty.' I call it 'being a fucking moron.'"

I'm pretty sure I heard Jon Stewart on The Daily Show a day or two ago refer to Rush Limbaugh as the "de fecto leader of the Republican Party".
