New Roger Clyne Videos

Posted on: July 11, 2009 9:16 AM, by Ed Brayton

There are some new live videos of one of my favorite bands in the world, Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers, on Vimeo and they have surprisingly good sound. This is a band that encourages fans to record their shows and share them, so there's a lot of good recordings of the around. Here's a song from the new CD, Manana:

And here's one of their old classics, Jack v Jose, a song about the relative virtues of whiskey vs tequila.

Jose vs. Jack from Jamie Eng on Vimeo.

And here's a new Youtube clip of a song from their latest album, Captain Suburbia:

And probably my favorite song that they do live, Wanted:

What a mind-blowing week.

First I discover PZ Myers reads Slacktivist. Now I find out that you consider RCPM one of your favorite bands in the world.

I saw them in Chicago and Milwaukee just in May. I was considering road-tripping to Fort Wayne and Ann Arbor, but didn't have the time. Although I did end up having a hell of a lot of fun hanging out with Jim Dalton after the Milwaukee show on the 28th. Ahh, the stories...

Well, if you'd made it to Ann Arbor you would have seen me. Great show, as always. I don't think Jim Dalton is going to be their permanent guitarist. He's the leader of his own band, the Railbenders. I think he just hooked up with them for this tour after Steve Larsen left. But he did a great job.

You're probably right about Jim. He's apparently still doing shows with the Railbenders when he's in available. It's too bad, too. He did really well. And he mostly knew the older stuff so it changed their playlists around.

I never expected to hear "Tributary Otis" live...
