How desperate and dishonest is the Republican National Committee when it comes to health care reform? How about dishonest enough to ask this question on a survey they sent out:

“It has been suggested that the government could use voter registration to determine a person’s political affiliation, prompting fears that GOP voters might be discriminated against for medical treatment in a Democrat-imposed health care rationing system. Does this possibility concern you?”

Who, exactly, has been suggesting such a thing? I mean, other than the RNC itself? Why would anyone react to such a suggestion with anything but derisive laughter and eye rolling? The GOP is engaged in flat out lying and fear-mongering on a spectacular scale.

And this isn’t some weird claim by some wingnut blogger, or something said by some minor county-level GOP operative. This came directly from the Republican National Committee with a cover letter by Michael Steele. And the survey ends with a plea for donations to the RNC. They are using baldfaced lies and pure demagoguery to solicit donations from the credulous and the ignorant.
