Batshit Insane Quote of the Day

Posted on: October 27, 2009 9:23 AM, by Ed Brayton

You really do have to marvel at the career of Victoria Jackson. After several years on Saturday Night Live playing the dumb blonde -- talk about typecasting -- she then went on to make a movie with Andrew Dice Clay. For anyone else, that would have been the low point, the bottom of the barrel.

But not for Victoria. She managed to go even lower, now all the way down to spending her time appearing on Trinity Broadcasting Network show about Christian "celebrities" (and yes, the quotation marks are appropriate) and writing barely literate political rants (or delivering them in person on Fox News) calling Obama the antichrist.

Her latest missive is a posting on Andrew Breitbart's Big Hollywood website (seriously, Breitbart? Are your standards that low?). And it is quite a sight to behold. It's a love letter to Glenn Beck. Seriously.

But I must especially thank you Glenn Beck for your blackboard. I love your blackboard! And your thorough research. Your facts. Your diagrams. Your teaching. Finally, someone is clearly explaining to us, the taxpayers, exactly what is happening inside that mysterious, gigantic, corrupt political system we have. We, the working middle class, have always been afraid of the machine, and I think the politicians/criminals wanted it that way. With their pompous, pious faces and sneaky hands, they have been stealing and lying. We were too busy raising children, working and going to church to have time to research them. Now, finally, one man has done it. Cracked the Code. Exposed the Fraud. Shone the Light on the Basement Rats! Now, the rats are all scurrying around, all nervous. They are calling The Man With The Flashlight names. Mean names. Squeak! Squeak!

Glenn Beck, thank you for answering my questions. One day I was wondering who those "czars" were who had slipped into the White House, under the radar...I flipped your show on, and you told me! It's like you read my mind! One day I was wondering what real doctors think of ObamaCare, not the fake doctors Obama rigged for his photo shoot, but real ones. I popped on your show, and there you all were...debating, having a real discussion, like grown ups. Obama's speeches are all fake and they say nothing. Cotton candy for stupid people. But, you Glenn Beck, you are a thinker. Like me. You are unbiased. Like me. You are simply seeking Truth, just like me....

To you heroes, we thank you. We really, really, really love you. You're cool. You're brave. You're smart. And, you tell the truth!

Wait. It actually gets worse:

I took my beautiful fake nails out to my car and drove to the car wash. Hard working, friendly Mexicans made it shiny. I don't know if they were legal or illegal. I love everyone, but I think rules should be followed. Why can't they be legal? Is it difficult? You'll probably explain Amnesty to me tomorrow on TV, because you always know what I'm thinking.

Wow. That's the only word that comes to mind. Wow.

Normally I would conclude that someone who said this has no TV and has been living inside a cave for several years, but if she's watching Beck, then she must have a TV. The only other options are willful ignorance or dishonesty.

This is the point at which the "Poe Hypothesis" is simply inadequate.

This bit:

"After leaving SNL, Victoria appeared on a string of TV series, including ‘The X Files,’ as well as several Christian themed shows like ‘The 700 Club.’ She is also a political activist and was an ardent opponent of President Obama in the 2008 general elections. “Voters in our last election did not base their decision on facts or knowledge,” she wrote on her blog in 2008, “but on hype, emotion, peer pres:sure, and racial fervor. It didn’t help that the liberally biased media blocked Americans access to the truth.” Victoria often appears on ‘The O’Reilly Factor’ and ‘Fox News.’" (Link: http://www.fancast.com/blogs/where-are-they-now/snls-victoria-jackson-where-is-she-now/)

pretty much encapsulates the up-is-down, right-is-left, black-is-white nonsense of the KKKristian reich.

And all of this time I thought she was ACTING like a moron.

Maybe she's angling to be Beck's second wife, if he decides to go the polygamist route. A match made in heaven: dumb and dumberer.

I only started hearing Andrew Breitbart's name pop up recently. I realized there was a news aggregator named Breitbart.com given that Matt Drudge frequently links to it but knew only that Mr. Breitbart was a conservative.

Here's his Wikipedia entry. Another conservative with no known credentials except his ability to spoon-feed conservative masses only what they want to consider. I now understand why Mr. Drudge gives him so much play.

It's like you read my mind!

Ah - speed reading.

She really is so fucking stupid that it's almost beyond comprehension. Have any of you seen her website?

If the people at Webster's were looking for an illustration to place next to the definition of "clueless", she'd be among the top contenders.

Not onlly better looking than Sarah Palin, but even dumber! The perfect right-wing broad. Plus, she did a movie with Andrew Dice Clay -- don't see why Ed isn't counting that as a mark in her favor.

Maybe she is just gathering material for a book. She will call it Gullible, How a Liberal Comedienne Duped The Far Right.

Really, Ed, you didn't need to quote anything beyond that. It already was maximally stupid at that point. Infinity plus infinity is still infinity, after all...

Obama's speeches are all fake and they say nothing.

The fact that this is perfectly true makes me want to vomit, as I've now been forced to agree with Victoria Jackson. Truly these are the end times. But this...

Why can't they be legal? Is it difficult?

Just... holy shit.

Victoria also had a bit part in the thoroughly awesome Weird Al Yankovic movie, "UHF". Sadly, she has now become even more annoying than Fran Drescher, who was originally the most horrible actor in that movie.

You couldn't find a seemingly dumber person to present an idea. It's as if she were hand picked to trash a position and making anyone who agrees with her or her idea look stupid right along with her. Astoundingly vapid.

Her one claim to fame seems to be that she could do hand-stands on fire-hydrants and other similar objects. I think she hit her head a few too many times on the dismount.

OT -- I am now considering myself extremely fortunate that I was previously unaware of Ms. Jackson -- I watch TV but not SNL -- and hope to return to that ignorance.

But the real insanity of the day comes from the KANSAY CITY STAR. Apparently a group of anti-abortion extremists are trying to run an auction on eBay to raise money for Scott Roeder. My 'quote of the day' is from Dave Leach, who is gathering items -- there is a good chance eBay will nopt permit this, btw.:

His own donation: An Army of God manual, an underground publication for anti-abortion militants that describes dozens of ways to shut down clinics, including bombing. Leach published a reprint of the manual in 1996 in his magazine, Prayer and Action News.

“I plan to cover up the offending eight pages of bomb recipes and instead insert a note saying that in order to avoid legal problems, we advise our bomb-loving friends to seek their bomb recipes in a U.S. Army Manual, which is approved by the Justice Department,” Leach said. “I will also enclose my April 1996 issue, which contains bomb-making excerpts from a declassified U.S. Army Manual widely available in Army surplus stores.”

but there are other goodies in the auction. Again from Leach:

Another item to be auctioned, Leach said, is a collection of recipes compiled in prison by Shelley Shannon, the Oregon woman who shot and wounded Tiller in 1993 and was later convicted in a series of abortion clinic arsons and bombings.

“When they have birthdays or something in prison, they don’t have access to bake a cake,” said Leach, who recently paid a visit to Shannon in a Minnesota prison. “So they’ve figured out how to make quite a number of confectionary things.”
One recipe is for prison cheesecake, he said.
“It starts of with four little plastic tubs of pudding, a container of powdered creamer, a packet of powdered lemonade, and a little tub of cream cheese, like what you put on bagels, and stir it all together,” he said. “Shelley said it’s really pretty good.”

Now that I've turned your stomach literally and metaphorically...

Ok, Chappy, let's do this slowly. Studies show the percentage of US citizens who identify themselves as Christian is around 76%. Now 76 is bigger than 50 - you still with me? In order for a group to be considered a minority, they have to make up less than 50% of the population. Anything getting through? I didn't think so.

Wait a sec, I just checked and they're still at around 78% of the population and 90% of elected officials here in the US. Well, crap. Chappy got my hopes up for a minute there.

Whoa, when did Christians become a minority in America? Also, since when do Beck and Jackson represent all American Christians? It seems to me that you are the one picking on Christians if you think they're all as dumb and dishonest as these two.

So....... SNL gave the left a man is able to draw a map of the US from memory and hold a rational discussion with insane teabagger nut jobs on healthcare while defusing "teh carzy" they are spouting and prepping a bill that would stop the government from paying companies that do fun things like cover up for rapists. SNL also gave the right someone so monumentally stupid they make Bush-the-younger and Caribou Barbie seem like someone you could have an intelligent chat with. Have i got that right?

Were they in the show at the same time? I am sorry but i not well versed in the show... If they were i imagine the backstage discussion was amazing.

Why do wingnuts randomly capitalize shit mid-sentence?
They do it as kindness. They know that others do not have the VOICE of GOD speaking to them - and therefor do not know what is IMPORTANT. Therefor, the CAPITALIZE certain carefully chosen words, so those of us who lack HIS HOLY GUIDANCE will know what is IMPORTANT. We should thank them for their generosity.

Nah--it's not Godwinning; besides, a variation on it was already out there. Think it was Molly Ivins who wrote after the '92 GOP convention: "Many did not care for Buchanan's speech; it probably sounded better in the original German."

#9 "Victoria Jackson is part of the "working middle class"?"

Yes. The problem is that she forgot the hyphen. It's "working-middle class", as in the class of people whose midsections are working, as evidenced by the volume of shit she can produce.

#11 "Not onlly better looking than Sarah Palin, but even dumber!"

I would disagree with the first part. It's appropriate that Jackson's on TBN; they need to keep a spare handy in case Jan Crouch turns to dust.

There was once a segment on SNL's Weekend Update during her tenure where Jackson started her usually ditzy schtick and then suddenly sighed and pulled off a wig to reveal brunette hair. She then began speaking in a less nasally, lower-pitched voice and said something along the lines of not being able to pull off the dumb blonde act anymore. It was really an amazing and unexpected transformation and for years I wondered which Jackson was real.

Now I know. It was the dumb one.

Posted by: Savagemutt | October 27, 2009 4:11 PM

I just want to thank everyone in these comments for not making snide remarks about Jackson's looks. Other than one about her being prettier than Sarah Palin, which I took as an indictment of the GOP more than anything, she has been attacked for her idiotic views and general stupidity, and not called a bitch, slut, or any other sexist term. I can't imagine these kind of comments on a right-wing post about a lefty woman. Go lefties!

Oops, left out something--other than the one about her being prettier than SP, etc etc, she has neither been called a bitch, slut, etc, OR had any remarks made about her looks, positive or negative. It's not okay to talk about how hot a chick is, either (in the context of criticizing her political views), and clearly we know that.

Tidbits from the Victoria Jackson thing:

1. Are we really so annoyed that an SNL vet turned out to be a right-wing dumbass? Why is that? Do we have some reason to expect that all funny people turn out to be smart liberals or really good actors in strange ways?

2. Am I revising my Victoria Jackson memories to make her seem not funny? She used to be funny, and she was pretty hot in a ditzy and not afraid of it kind of way.

3. Can we assemble an All-Nation team of former TV second-listers turned wingnuts-au-terrible? Sonny Bono (barkbrain), then his wife; the guy who played the guy on Love Boat, Vicky Jackson, Chuck Norris, etc.

4. She's getting a lot fat. That has little to do with her political perspectives; after all, she's not Lynn Nofziger. So I won't mention it, or Winston Churchill.

5. If she had never been on SNL she would just be another strident wingnut...

oh, I'm confused.

shane@34,
