And it's popularity. And it's color.

Maybe soon to be ex-state senator Ashburn feels differently.

Okay, cue Cleavon Little's famous line from Blazing Saddles in 3, 2, 1....

Is this what they mean by stimulus?

Well, it's pretty complicated, so it's just too hard for the average Republican to come to grips with.

Oh, man, read the whole article; it's hilarious. You can find it online here: http://archive.easternecho.com/content/republicans-turned-size-obamas-package.

xebecs - I certainly do not mean the GOP won't try to get a grip of a large package, particularly if an intern, a page or a public toilet is involved. - Dingo

In related news, Dr. Freud can't handle all the implications of this headline, so he's called in his fellow Viennese specialists for assistance.

DavidDG: you added a period at the end of your link, breaking it.

HA!

Let's hope the Associated Press picks up the story. I'd love for my wingnut relations to see it in their local paper.

And then there’s this where we learn among other things “Republican Mitt Romney unveiled his own package, one that is much smaller than Obama's” and “Rush Limbaugh has been criticized for saying that he hopes Obama's package doesn't work”.

Reading the whole article (corrected link in post #9), that has got to be the result of a bet to see how many sexual innuendoes the writer could get in one article, and still get it published.

Either that, or my mind is far filthier than I thought.

ROTFLMAO

that reminds me of this news-clip from the early days of the Teabaggers. :-)

Posted by: Jadehawk | March 13, 2010 10:54 AM

14

Yes, Republicans are turned off by the size of Obama's package, and they're afraid he'll try to ram it down their throats.* And, sadly, for probably about 60 % of them, that goes for both the figurative and the literal interpretation.

*And they're afraid no amount of teabagging will stop him.

this would be funny if it weren't sad. we have nincompoops of state legislators in Ohio making a big fuss about the State having to spend $14 million/year on the four city hi speed rail corridor (Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, Cincy) that is still in project report stage. Nincompoops elsewhere, GOPer legislators, Blue Dog wimps, CEI/AEI/Cato morons are talking about the deficit. In the meanwhile China is putting finishing touches to its $3 trillion high speed rail network that will ferry passengers across the land at a top speed of 300 km/hr (almost 200 mph).

My favorite line from the article is

As debate over the dimensions of Obama’s package snaked through the House, the blame game over who bore responsibility for America’s current economic pickle grew predictably partisan.

You mean the package Fox News constantly says Obama is trying to ram down the throats of Amareicans? That package or is it a different pacakge? How many packages does Obama have excatly?

More than a year later and I am still waiting for the climax. That just goes to show that, while size counts, it's more important that you know how to use it.

It seems like it'd be more accurate to say they're *intimidated* by the size of Obama's package.

“Rush Limbaugh has been criticized for saying that he hopes Obama's package doesn't work”.

This is a much better package than any that "read my lips" Bush had revealed.
It will be part of news flashes for the coming future.
Instead of the rubber checks Bush propped up, there is a vas deferens in this package.
Instead of hanging around congress and tricks as usual, we will not allow the deficit to swell up to enormous proportions.
Obama is now the head and what he ejaculates will make all but the most hardened repubs spew rhetoric.
In the end, we will prevail.
