Taitz on the Ballot

Posted on: March 21, 2010 9:09 AM, by Ed Brayton

Orly Taitz got on the ballot for secretary of state in California. I'm telling you, God loves me.

So n you don't even need to be able to fill in a simple form to run for office in California. That explains a lot. - Dingo

I'm pretty sure God doesn't love you but I appears he's not terribly fond of her either. Apparently, it's a sin to be a lying jackass. Who'd a thunk it?

I say we demand her birth certificate and anything else we can FOI. Although I understand that a birth certificate not required, it would be hilarious if there was something out of order.

And Ed, I understand the joy with which you take this news. You were just handed boxes of ammunition. Sometimes they make it too easy! They're doing the same thing here in North Dakota. One of our Republican state Reps just was arrested for beating up his wife for the second time. His wife also works at the capital so the republican governor had to ease the restrictions on the no contact order so he could continue to do his Republican duty. It's kind of a one free wife beating rule. Just once, not twice. Of course, this is just for Republicans, Democrats are under a different and somewhat harsher policy.

I just love living in a progressive state.

Doesn't she have some sort of evil foreign background? Of course she is likely a harmless ranting loon but ... the more I think about it the more it occurs to me that there may not be any better cover than appearing as a nutter. Can you say Manchurian Candidate?

The first inkling of this was the breathless acclaim she had from people she worked with. Very reminiscent of the whole monotone 'I have never met a kinder, warmer, more generous person' speech. It also seems to be common to a lot of Palin supporters.

I'm not sure what good having Orly as a Manchurian Candidate might do anyone. Maybe if the governator, and a dozen others dropped dead, the secretary of state might be in line to run things.

If the FSM truly has a sense of the ridiculous he'll allow Taitz to become Sec. of State and Jerry Brown to become governor again. Moonbeam and the Lunatic?

It might make for an interesting reality show.

The way the Republican Party is in California (and apparently everywhere else) these days, Taitz could conceivably get the nomination. She won't be elected to office, but she'll make the campaign more surreal and trippy than any other candidate in state history (and we've had some "winners", including Mike Huffington running for the U.S. Senate as Arianna's sock puppet).

I'll reregister to vote in the republican primary first thing tomorrow. This is gonna kick ass.

7

It's not clear she can beat Republican primary opponent Dunn but she started out with a bang but suing him for not following registration rules. Turns out he did fine but filing false claims is Taitz's strength after all.

Why stop at a birth certificate? Be inventive. Demand that she authorize the CIA to release all records pertaining to her to all interested parties. If she's not a KGB plant, then she has nothing to fear. Then repeat that demand for the FBI. If she's been a good person, she won't have a FBI file. Right?

We need to start a rumor that she's a closeted atheist. I've never seen her in church!

The campaign will provide ample fodder for those of us who enjoy watching the tinfoil hat brigade, no doubt, but I can't wait to see her implode when she loses.

Although, given her tendency to claim wins no matter what, there is always the possibility she'll show up for work at the Sec'y of State's office regardless of the election outcome.

OK, Slightly off the topic of Orly's political run, but totally on topic with Orly's insanity is her amended complaint in her latest suit against Obama

http://www.scribd.com/doc/28679531/Taitz-v-Obama-First-Amended-Complaint

there is lots of crazy to go around there.

The image of someone painting themselves into a corner keeps coming to mind while the story of Orly unfolds. This development is encouraging. We may actually get to watch it happen.

I see top ratings for Sarah Palin to cover this for Fox News. Have your agent call Roger Ailes. Don't concede a dime; you deserve an Executive Producer spot, points on the ratings, and YouTube residuals. Hell, make sure you're getting royalties from iTunes sales as well.

THE TERRORIST-CODDLING, RAPID JEW-BATING RADICAL LEFTWING PRESS ESTABLISHMENT HATES ORLY BECAUSE SHE SUPPORTS AMERICA'S ONLY TRUE ALLY IN THE MIDDLE EAST!!!!!

IANAL, but I've read enough complaints to know that when you cite something that's not explicit in the law, you also need to cite cases that back your interpretation. For instance, she claims Atricle 2, section 1 of the US constitution says that in order to be eligible for the presidency, both of the candidates parents must not have loyalties to any other country. However, the constitution only says they must be natural-born citizens. If she thinks this is what natural-born citizen means, she has to cite another law or court ruling to this effect. She doesn't because she can't Natural born citizen means nothing of the sort. Also, there are numerous grammatical erors in the filing.

Nope, us terrorist-coddling, 'rapid' Jew-bating radical left-wing press establishment 'hates' Orly because she's as dumb as a box of hammers (but loves her 'cause she'll split the rabid religious right-wing retard vote, aka the POG*, from the GOP). Get it right! - Dingo

Matty - Presumably 'Rapid Jews' are kinda like quick oats or rice, partially precooked to save precious moments in the kitchen.

Has she denied lobotomising and castrating Glen Beck in 2003? I presume she would never do such a thing, but she owes it to the voters to put those nasty rumours to rest.

Orly Taitz, an Orange County attorney who has gone to court many times to try to disqualify Obama, was invited to speak Thursday at a Tax Day Tea Party rally in Pleasanton, Calif., that is expected to draw thousands of people. Late Tuesday, organizers said that they had rescinded Taitz' invitation after questions were raised about her presence by candidates who had been contacted by The Times.

Bridget Melson, founder and president of the Pleasanton Tea Party, said the organization had been "getting calls from candidates like crazy."

"It's not worth it," she said. "She's too controversial. This is not what the Tea Party is about at this point."
