Greg Giraldo died the other day of a drug overdose, a huge loss for the comedy world. Greg was one of the funniest guys in the business, easily in the top ten comics working today. In his honor, I’m going to post youtube clips (audio only) of his last CD, which was absolutely brilliant.
On tonight’s Declaring Independence: My guest will be Will Cleery, Director of Legal and Public Advocacy for the Foundation for Individual Rights in Eduation (FIRE), a group I support very strongly. We’ll be talking about the constant attempts to squash free speech on college campuses. As always, you can listen to the show live from…
The New York Times reports: The C.I.A. has drastically increased its bombing campaign in the mountains of Pakistan in recent weeks, American officials said. The strikes are part of an effort by military and intelligence operatives to try to cripple the Taliban in a stronghold being used to plan attacks against American troops in Afghanistan.…
In an interview with Rolling Stone, President Obama offered a transparently lame justification for his administration’s constant use of the state secrets privilege: People will say, “I don’t know — you’ve got your Justice Department out there that’s still using the state-secrets doctrine to defend against some of these previous actions.” Well, I gave very…

A student got thrown out of school for making fun of the Valdosta State University president, who had said that a parking garage was one of his greatest achievements —…
The Worldnutdaily notes that many Glenn Beck fans are inundating him with comments on his website disputing his dismissal of their birther nonsense. Glenn Beck may pooh-pooh the issue of Barack Obama’s eligibility based on his qualifications – or lack thereof – as a “natural born citizen” as the Constitution requires of a president, and…
The Moonie Times has an article about an American general denying that he compared opponents of lifting the ban on gays serving openly in the military with those who opposed racial integration in the military. An Army general playing a prominent role in readying the military for open gays in the ranks has equated those…
Here’s an amusing video made by Randall Terry showing Tea Partiers who to hold their own press conference and get attention by printing up posters with verses from the Quran on them and then ripping those posters up. He actually feels the need to tell them how to rip or tear the posters — and…
I’m having a strange problem with the blog. I can’t comment on my own blog because there are no boxes to enter my name, email address or website. It still says those things, but the box to the right where you would enter text is gone. Lots of people are still leaving comments, so obviously…
Keep an eye on the Michigan Messenger today. At 1 pm, we’re breaking a story that could really shake up the sports world — a story that I really don’t like having to publish, for reasons that will be obvious when you read it.
