Those conservatives are all about smaller government — unless it might hurt their district or state to make it any smaller.
Limiting government for Gov. Rick Perry doesn’t mean limiting space exploration. In a statement following the safe return of the space shuttle Atlantis this morning, the governor took his own moon shot at President Obama for cutting Houston jobs and NASA.
Citing the 42nd anniversary this week of the first moon walk, Perry went on to say that, “this administration has set a significantly different milestone by shutting down our nation’s legacy of leadership in human spaceflight and exploration, leaving American astronauts with no alternative but to hitchhike into space.”
Except it was Bush — from Texas — who decided to end the shuttle program.
