Do You Have the Stones for It?

Category: Public Health

Abel Pharmboy liveblogged his own vasectomy today. This takes some serious cajones, my friend. And it was all for a greater purpose:

But the very serious part of this post is to educate men on how mild a vasectomy is relative to tubal ligation in their female partner. As I said, this is the least I could do in return for my wife's true suffering in bringing our lovely daughter into this world.

Well done, Abel, well done.

I told him he should live-blog his first post-vasectomy wank.

Damn. Is there a site on the web that hasn't linked to this? But, I saw it here first so I'll post my comment here.
This guy is nuts.
Read it? I couldn't even get through snippets of it.
There is a vas and substantial deferens between what he thinks is good blogging and what I think is good reading.
I can't think of why one would blog this---I'm drawing a blank here.
Did he at least get a couple of test tickles to check if the anaesthesia had kicked in?
Seriously though, good on him. I'm guessing they needed a pair of industrial bolt-cutters to interrupt the seminal flow of a testicular titan such as he.

What can I say? I felt bad about using my vasectomy as an excuse not to get a post out on Thursday.

In all seriousness, I wanted to use my self-effacing account to draw attention to a relatively painless yet effective procedure that men rarely discuss amongst themselves. Judging from the blog reactions and the comment threads (about two dozen links here), we got some good dialogue going and have dispelled many myths. I'm still a little sore but I feel like I did a good thing - for my wife and as satirical blogfodder for the community!

Anonymoustache gets props for some of the best: "I'm guessing they needed a pair of industrial bolt-cutters to interrupt the seminal flow of a testicular titan such as he."

Many thanks to my boyz, PP and DM, for their kind comments about my boys.

Right now, though, I can't think about wanking or otherwise. Will keep you posted on progress.
