I just saw this article on how many mental health professionals are donating services to returning service personnel because the Pentagon isn't doing any where near enough.
For 1.4 million active duty personnel the DoD has 1,431 mental health professionals. That is simply shameful. That the mental health of active duty military personnel and veterans is so low on the military's list of priorities that they need to rely on charity? On charity? Would the military rely on charity for anything else? Is Halliburton doing anything for charity? Is Blackwater doing anything for charity? Of course not. That would defeat the whole purpose of the war, to generate profits for Halliburton, Blackwater and the other military contractors.
That daedalus2u and I heard or read somewhere that cremation is now being recommended because ground to bury the soldiers in is becoming scarce. Whether that's true or not I don't know.
And not to get of the subject but also heard Haliburton Cheney made more money that Bushie Boy this year.
Don't fall off your chair revere, you're right, we need to bring them home.
There was a good version of this song by Pete Seeger on youtube, unfortunately some media company had it taken off. Here is another Pete Seeger, "What did you learn in school today".
bernarda: I think I posted it once before. It is from a TV show in the late 60s or early 70s. Good version, but this Boss version is pretty good, too. Not as good as it would be if we could bring 'em home for real, though. Sigh.
Lea: Thanks. Nice to hear. I did fall out of my chair but in a good way.

Tom Paxton updated his song "Lyndon Johnson told the nation" to "George W told the nation".

revere, sometimes support comes from unexpected places. Here is a Merle Haggard song "America First", and it is not what you might expect.

There is a comment on Iraq. I think he might be pushing the envelope for his fans.
