The eruption at Sarychev Peak is continuing to disrupt all sorts of flights that head towards Asia. There are lots of unhappy travelers who have had to “enjoy” a 12 hour flight that took them from Newark, NJ to … Newark, NJ (see yesterday’s Continental Flight 009 above). There have been a multitude of flights affected by the ash, many reported here on Eruptions by travelers or relatives (keep them coming!) It will be interesting to see how long the airlines will have to deal with changing flightpaths and diverting aircraft due to this ongoing eruption.

In another front for the eruption, it appears that Sarychev Peak is releasing a fairly significant amount of sulfur dioxide that is drifting across the Pacific Ocean. The NASA Earth Observatory has an image of the sulfur dioxide plume. Not only does this now register as the largest sulfur dioxide event of the year, but the extent of the plume suggest that the ash column might be as tall as 21 km / 69,000 feet! The SO2 from the eruption can be traced as far as the Alaskan Aleutians, while the visible plume heads thousands of kilometers into the Pacific.

    What to do if im so ugly?( Im a guy) I see no happiness in life &being depressed.? not gona show pics cos im tht ugly but ya title pretty much says it all…my mom says im ugly after i piss her off and we fight and she gets mad…my sis says im ugly after i called her a fat *** ugly piece of ****…and only 2 other girls have called me ugly and its after i treated them like crap. but then again, i have facebook pics, and i go out in real life and no one says im handsome, or ugly either. i have 1 friend who always makes fun of me and calls me names and jokes but i think its cos hes insecure. so idkkk what to do. im overly obsessed with myself i always look in the mirror. i have acne all over my face however i know how to cover it up well i also feel like my ears are sticking out altho i dont rly have big ears i like covering it up with a hood or somethin…i feel like my lips arent even proportional and when i talk they move sideways…i think i jus plain look ugly. no girls really go after me there have been girls talking to me before in the past and people have rarely given me hints but i neither get called ugly or attractive and i look really really bad in pictures from my standpoint. also, when i go to the mall or vegas or wherever i feel like the ugliest guy there. looks are really big to me as i have no personality whatsoever. i am mean to alot of people and im judemental and its hard for me to be nice…i just cant control it. so yeah, from this description, any ideas?

    What a wonderful experience! Dune bashing is the most fun you can have with your clothes on! Very well organised day. Dinner was wonderful and in a stunning desert setting. My henna tattoo is starting to fade now, but it’s lasted 3 weeks! The belly dancer was great and encouraged us all to participate. A value for money trip!
