Now on ScienceBlogs: "Global Warming is not real because weather patterns have stabilized in the last 10 years!" Why statements like this need a little context.

I just experienced a shock of recognition.

I've heard stuff just like the "Beehive Theory" from corporate consultants explaining "enterprise strategy"

Either Cheney's finally got the cognitive implant working or the refugees from Andersen's have finished their tunnel under the Oval Office.

For his analogy to work, we would have also had to step on a lot of innocent caterpillars while we were stomping on anthills looking for bess, and instead of metamorphosing into butterflies, the relatives of the dead caterpillars would have had to evolve into wasps and sting us in the foot. And I'm pretty sure that's not how that works.

Gyaagh! Bush is like stupid --only dumber.

He's dumber than stupid. And, he's still breathing. It's a miracle, really.

Bush parrots the metaphor Cheney told him to help him understand why we should invade Iraq. Strangely enough, Bush doesn't seem to understand what everyone else knows about beehives.

You don't just run around indiscriminately kicking beehives, if you do, there's no avoiding it, you're going to get stung.

Only forty-seven seconds, and it sums up everything that's wrong with both GWB and his presidency -- everything from the bullying personality to the siege mentality to the willful ignorance of the natural world.

Joel: " there's no avoiding it, you're going to get stung."

On the other hand, what's a few stings if you eventually win by destroying the hive?

Problem is, no honey (oil)

Well, it is just a theory. Teach the controversy.

Wouldn't be surpised if he believes in the stork theory too :)
