Are you gonna turn Stain and Whatsit away at the door, too?
Posted by: Sili | August 28, 2008 12:48 PM
i concur. I wish I lived in Oklahoma.

If it was going to be at San Marcos (on May Ave.) I might consider attending. Actually, half a country away, so not really ... but San Marcos is awesome.

That's too far to drive for IRL trolling. I'll concentrate really hard on making my likeness appear on the pizza, though. I mean, hell, Jesus can do it and he doesn't even exist.

I go to OU, so I'll be in town! What will happen at the party! will we sit around and talk about science?!
Posted by: Kendall | August 28, 2008 2:17 PM
Oh man, I could really go for some pizza right about now...
Posted by: Aaron Golas | August 28, 2008 2:52 PM
Watch out for PZ and Dawkins trying to crash the party.

Just got an e-mail you will be talking in Tulsa in a month. Great. Hope to hear you speak there.

I live in Bangkok, Thailand. I think I am either 13 or 14 time zones ahead of you. That means I have to start drinking at 8 or 9 AM to say "Cheers".
Wish I could be there in person.
Posted by: Alf | August 29, 2008 2:03 AM
The time imprint says I'm just 13 hours ahead of you. Oh well, a Bloody Mary at 8 AM isn't too bad. I've done worse.
Posted by: Alf | August 29, 2008 2:06 AM
I've been to Oklahoma, it's through a bunch of corn right?
Posted by: Tatarize | August 29, 2008 4:39 AM
Tatarize, yeah, that's right, just don't forget to set your watch back while you're there. 1954 ought to be about right.
I used to live in Pittsburg KS, not too far from Oklahoma. This almost makes me wish I were still there. ERV, I'll be hoisting a jar with you in spirit from Atlanta.
Posted by: Blaidd Drwg | August 29, 2008 6:52 AM
I will come if you wear *that* dress, head atheist!
;-P
Posted by: Rich | August 29, 2008 10:01 AM
Then you'll know you're in Oklahoma.
Posted by: Dustin | August 29, 2008 10:07 AM
Sounds like fun! I could drop down from Stillwater. Email sent. :)
Posted by: Wes | August 29, 2008 10:23 AM
Actually, any of those three individually would constitute a win, put the three of them together and it makes me almost believe in Dog.
And speaking of whom, will Arnie be there, too? That would make it the Win to end all Wins!

Hi all,
Oklahoma is a mixture of Great Plains and some slightly rugged terrain. I know of it primarily from its fossils; one can get some well-preserved Phacops logani trilobites from the Arbuckle Mountains.
Regards,
John

Anyone interested in doing one in the Washington, DC area? We live in Clifton VA and might be interested in hosting a paralell party here.
Posted by: Dianne | August 30, 2008 8:18 AM
man, all this okie bashing sort of hurts. like th dust bowl allover again. Clearly, you guys weren't aware of the Great Salt Plains, one of the largest inland coastal bird migration spots in the country, nor some of the oldest mountains on the continent, or the fact we have more ecoregions than all other states, (though we tie with a few). And don't even get me started on tall grass prairies... so where do you go to school, OU or OSU? I just graduated from OSU w/ a degree in forest ecosystem sciences.

Haley Shae, OSWho?

My job sends me for training periodically to Norman, OK but unfortunately I'm not scheduled for anything around that time. Shucks, sounds like it would be fun. Hope y'all have a good time.
Cheers,
Ray

WTF?! You goof, the 16th is a Tuesday! How the heck are those of us with jobs supposed to join the fray? No good party ends the same day it starts, and I don't think my boss is going to accept "ERV kept me away" as an excuse.
Get yer booty down here to Dallas and plan a bash, and you can count me in for beer money.

I will be there and will try to bring my wife and 19-year-old daughter, too. I am looking forward to meeting you.

Is the party still happening? Will Arnie be okay? I sent an RSVP. Any more details coming?
