POSTPONED! Second Annual Chapter Dialogues: The Status of Separation of Church/State in OK

Category: Personal
Posted on: March 27, 2009 6:45 PM, by ERV

Dangit!

The big OK Separation of Church and State event tomorrow has had to be postponed because we are currently in the middle of a freak snowstorm. By freak snowstorm, I mean it is currently 27 degrees, pouring rain that is going to turn into snow overnight...

... Yet the high on Sunday is going to be 60 degrees. HA!

Also bad news: Carl Zimmer is going to be giving the John Wesley Powell Memorial Lecture on Sunday. Hes flying in... tomorrow. DAMMIT! While Im happy and comfortable in Oklahoma, I have this irrational fear of pro-science people being killed while they are visiting my state. Like we dont have a bad enough rap-- OKLAHOMA: The state that killed Carl Zimmer!

Dammit.

Pro-science means pro-rational. See you in Oklahoma (in one piece).

Snow in OK in late March. More proof of global warming climate change.

First Dawkins, and now Zimmer?

WTF did you guys do to deserve that, so we can do it too?!?

Okay, I guess I can't complain too much. We (in Denver) got PZed (twice!) and Carl last year, so that's about even...

But if Carl drives anything like Myers, maybe you sould be his chauffeur...

Going for the record in deliberately misunderstanding the issue, it's Limp Willy!

Seriously, asshat, do you even understand what climate change *means*? Do you understand that freak weather, and yes even unseasonable snowstorms, are *exactly* what we would expect to see?

Have you stopped beating your wife yet? How about the closet? Stopped masturbating to gay porn in the closet yet?

Jackass.

Hey, uh WW...I think you missed a great opportunity to quote Colbert there: "There is no climate; there is only weather"

Well, maybe next time.

For the hell of it, a pro-science last supper, before OK crucifies Dawkins.

Here's an example of a need for church/state separation if you'd like to share it.

Yeah!!! Zimmer is going to be in Tulsa! If the snow doesn't get him. I will have to brave the elements myself and see his talk.

We also get Chris Mooney on Apr 2 and Ken Miller in Oct. :D

But I think we're getting all this sciencey attention because our state legislature and local school boards are slowly turning our state into an anti-science shithole. :( I wouldn't recommend it for Colorado...

Abbie: If you make it, he says he is up to meeting you after his talk for a beer.
