Just want to point you all towards a Q&A I did with an animal blag, 'Paw Talk'! Theyve been doing these with lots of science bloggers, and the series has been pretty fun, so Im glad Ive been included!

I also think its funny that both Ava and Conspiracy Skeptic picked the same piccie of Arnie to post lol! That is the cutest damn pic of him. Such a teddy bear, just want to squish his fuzzy puppy face :D

Then there's Abbie, the animal rescuer and pet owner who owns a dog named after a famous bodybuilder actor and who's family is known for rescuing stray pups.
Heh. Looks like your kind of people - linguistically speaking.

He does look adorable, though - I say this as a cat-person - is there any lab in him, or is that just what pits look like?

is growing impatient with waiting for me to die, so he can eat me.

P.S. Since we started stocking a small herd's worth of rawhide and scattering hundreds of dessicated pig bits his reign of terror appears to have abated.

Hi Abby,

Owning that cat I had for 21 years taught me a couple of things, one was - never pull a cat's tail when you sleep on a waterbed.

She had walked over me as I slept one night, and I expressed myself with a grab of her tail. Maybe three hours later I found that had created three small punctures and a nice damp region by my legs.

Off-topic alert.... my real reason for posting

This (forthcoming, epub) paper might be something to sink *your* teeth into, Abby, as it concerns genomic stability and elements in which you have interest.

http://www.nature.com/nature/journal/vaop/ncurrent/pdf/nature08217.pdf

It was in the "forthcoming articles" part of the Nature contents email today.

Abby (and any other virus researchers):

I'm currently college shopping1, so do you know if there are any colleges/universities with good virology / molecular biology departments/people in Virginia2? I'll be an undergraduate, so I don't expect to find a virology degree available, but undergrad research...
