You know who this guy is, even if you dont 'know' who he is-- he was one of the founders of 'National Organization for Marriage', of 'GATHERING STORM!' infamy.
The guy is a putrid douchebag.
Why the hell would this fruitcake be speaking on a medical university campus? Well, the Baptist Student Fellowship of Christian Medical Dental Christian Pharmacist Association invited him to speak on "Science, Philosophy, and Religion in the Embryo Debate."
George has no scientific training. He has performed no scientific research in his entire life. He is not a medical professional in any way. It would make more sense for them to have invited past/current SciBlog ethics/philosophy bloggers instead of this guy.
But I guess the point is, the Baptist Student Fellowship of Christian Medical Dental Christian Pharmacist Association arent exactly 'interested' in having an honest discussion about what happens when their personal interpretation of their chosen religion conflicts with modern science, modern laws, and modern ethics.
Whatever, their money. Its open to all of us... but I dont know if Im going to be able to stomach this guy, even for the lulz. Ill try if you all want me to. Though Im pretty sure I can guess right now what hes going to talk about.

Of course it would be best to just show him the science, but he is undoubtedly blinded by his faith to reality, so what the hell.

That is one funny video. George Takai's appearance was what clued me into the fact that it was a parody.
It's a pretty sad world when parody is so hard to distinguish from real Christian ranting.

Yes, people do accuse me of pedanticness, but I always point out that the correct word is "pedantry". But it's important to me because I got to meet Mr. Takei and his husband right after they were married, and give him a short tour of a small part of NASA (and say "congratulations"). If you're going to dedicate a few hours to the blog I would much rather get an extra post on viruses, or Biology, or Arnie. I doubt I will learn anything new from a post about this guy's lecture. I, for one, would like to thank Limp Willy for pointing out that opponents of gay marriage are continuing to lie about proponents of gay marriage. In the example he gave, a book for which Jennings wrote the forward is falsely claimed to promote adult-child sex. It's actually about making schools safer for gay children.
Next time, you might want to point out that the claim you're linking to is false, Billy boy. You don't want someone to get the mistaken impression that you actually believed that to be true, do you?

Um, the DEA's official mission is to fight the smuggling and use of illicit drugs. By contrast, the mission of the Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools is not to fight homosexuality.
